MOLD REMOVAL INFORMATION:
What is Mold?

wood, leather, and insulation when moist conditions exist.
- Mold will gradually destroy whatever it
is growing on.
- Molds reproduce by making spores and can become airborn.
- Can have a major impact on health.4
primary categories:

–Infants and children
–The Elderly
–Individuals with respiratory conditions or sensitivities such as allergies
and asthma.
–Persons with weakened immune systems (HIV, chemo, and transplant
patients).
- Stachybotrys chartarun (arta)- is the most
common mold found in water damaged homes.
DID YOU KNOW THAT IT CAN TAKE AS LITTLE AS 24 HOURS FOR MOLD,
FUNGUS, OR MILDEW TO BEGIN GROWING?
FACTORS FOR MOLD GROWTH
- Humidity over 60% contributes to mold
growth.
- Leaks that are not properly fixed. (
Roof, plumbing, A/C, etc.)
- Lack of proper ventilation
- Blocked HVAC ducts
- Vinyl wallpaper coverings can trap in
moisture
- Water damage that is not properly
mitigated and/or in time.
- Construction performed during wet
weather that was not properly protected against the elements.
Examples of mold growth and their attributing factors:

A broken air conditioner was a major factor in the abundance of mold
growth shown here.
Vinyl wallpaper coverings and a leaking balcony were the contributing
factors causing this large amount of mold growth. Vinyl wallpaper
traps in moisture allowing ideal conditions for mold growth.

Saving money or not?
As with many, this homeowner thought he was saving money by turning his air conditioner unit
to 80 degrees. The ideal setting is at 74
degrees for hot, humid summer days.

Even the smallest things can cause some major damage……
This toilet was the culprit that allowed over 70,000 gallons of water
to leak into this home.
As is common in Myrtle Beach this was a second home. The owners did not
discover the damage until they returned to their vacation home, two weeks
later.

“Again thank you very much for taking care of our problem in a timely manner and for all your help in bringing about an uneventful end to the whole situation. Also, thank you for going ahead and taking care of the washing machine hose and the icemaker line.
They could have been potential bad problems in the future; therefore, we thank you for seeing the problem and getting it repaired.
We are very grateful for your kindness in taking the time to call and explain the damage, keeping us informed and for meeting with the insurance adjuster and advising him. Although I have not met you, I feel you are a friend. We shall highly recommend you. Your office staff was very kind and helpful when we came to pick out the carpet and the worker who came to put the key box on the door took the time to go over everything with me again and answered y questions. Everyone that I came in contact with was friendly, helpful and upbeat. God’s blessings upon you.”
